TARNIK winning the 1977 Arab Horse Society Marathon held over the 26½ mile course on Salisbury Plain in a time of 1 hr. 36mins 49.5 secs. Part-bred Tarnik (left) was owned by Mr.and Mrs.Sutcliffe and bred at Poland's Janow Podlaski Stud He was trained and ridden by Patrick Kempe of the Winaway Stud, Withypool on Exmoor. Second was Lord and Lady Moynes Anglo-Arab Ansti ridden by Finn Guiness |
