Lusitanos at the Royal Windsor Horse Show
Thank you Ros for taking these videos. Please give them time to load, then enjoy.
On some computers, the video screens go to black for 20 secs before playing. I'm not a techno so can't explain!

The Parade Class enthralls the spectators

Tetuă proudly flies his Portuguese Flag for the prize-winners' lap of honour

Full Portuguese tack and costume show these Lusitano horses off
to their best advantage as they make full use of the arena.

Special permission had been given by the judge to fly the flag,
so please don't try this in your show class!

Really chuffed to be in the prize line-up.
Lusitano Parade Class

Our Lusitano Parade class was held before the Spanish Parade Class and so I did for once have a chance to watch something afterwards.

Windsor, apart from the expense, was great fun. We went up the day before so had time to explore. The metal tracking was strange. Once Tetuă got used to it, we rode down a long length to find it was quite springy in parts and Tetuă picked up quite a bounce in his rhythm. We ‘did trains’ as we parked near the railway line. Not as scary as I thought he might have found them. Then we waved to the boats as they passed us by on the Thames . The next morning the recreation field, on which cars had been parked, was empty. The goal posts beckoned so he got a chance to play with his football. We haven’t had a chance to play on such a large area before and we were soon cantering up and down with the ball flying along. Here’s a picture of us scoring a goal. Unfortunately the best picture was only in trot, not canter!

Our horsebox was parked  a long way from the stables, so Tetuă proved himself as a useful bicycle.

Nerves must have started to creep in as having plaited him up for the Parade Class, I left him untied (silly me) so when I returned from getting changed, he had found something to rub his plait undone. Plait repaired and now not long to go before his class only to find that I’d left his girth behind in the lorry. Ugh! Suzanne rushes back to fetch it. Phew! What a star! At last we are up and working in before being called to the class. The video shows a few excerpts from the class and we were given permission to fly the Portuguese Flag at the end. Wow! What a day!!
